Binga

Abangane Houseboat

This houseboat is moored in Binga and is available for charter on a catered or self catering basis. The boat has a spacious and well equipped galley on the lower deck where the two cabins – each sleeping four people on two bunk beds – and two bathrooms are. On the top deck is the living area with a plunge pool. In most cases beds are made up by the staff on the upper deck each day as guests choose to sleep under the starts or in the fresh lake air. Mosquito nets are also provided. The boat will travel as far as the Ruzi River and back – this is normally a five night charter. The boat can be booked for any number of nights. There are three friendly and helpful crew members on board. Maximum number of guests is 14.

Masumu River Lodge

This fishing lodge is set approximately 12km out of the village of Binga and is great to visit even if you don’t fish! There is a choice of accommodation – the lodge, self catering or camping. The six twin-bed lodge rooms are very comfortable, all air conditioned with ensuite bathrooms, a small fridge and a tea/coffee making station. The self catering unit sleeps twelve people in four bedrooms and has a central kitchen and living area with a plunge pool in front. All rooms overlook the water of Lake Kariba. There are fishing boats to hire, but please bring your own fishing tackle as this is not provided. The campsite is set under shady trees in the beautiful garden with an ablution block to be proud of! Numbers are limited, so it is advisable to pre-book even if camping.

Milibizi

This is considered the most western point of Lake Kariba. This is where the Kariba Ferry docks. There is self-catering accommodation at Zambezi Resort, plus a private B&B which can provide catering for other meals. Contact us for further information.

Msuna

Msuna Island is situated upstream of the Lake, on the Zambezi River. There are a number of privately owned lodges and chalets available to hire for your getaway fishing trip. Fishing pontoons can be hired from the Resort if you don’t have your own boat. Accommodation is available on a self catering basis, but a freelance cook can be hired during your stay. The bird life in this area is a prolific and will appeal to the bird-watchers as well as the fisherman.
